Location
The University of the West of England (UWE) is a modern,
growing university in the thriving city of Bristol, in the
South-West of England.
Description
UWE is one of Britains most popular universities, with
more than 30,000 students and 3,000 staff and is the
largest provider of higher education in the south west of
England. Students come to Bristol UWE from all parts of
the UK, as well as a significant and growing number of
international students from over 50 countries worldwide.
The University has four campuses in and around Bristol
encompassing 5 faculties and covering a wide range of
disciplines.
Entry Requirements
Prospective candidates to the UWE-Muenster referral
scheme, who have obtained a mark of at least 8 in their
Schwerpunktbereichs-pruefung, should apply via Prof.
Thomas Lundmark (University of Muenster) All other students
must have an Upper Second class honours degree
or equivalent and have passed either the IELTS (6.5)or
TOEFL score of 600 (paper-based); 250 (computer-based)
or, 100 (internet-based). The latter requirement may be
waived where, for example, students have completed
the common law programme (FFA) taught at some
German Universities such as the Westfälische Wilhelms-
Universität.
Semester Commencement Dates
Course length: Full time = eleven months (late September
– end of August) Part time = two or three years.

The Master of Laws
Bristol Law School offers a wide range of LLMs in:
Commercial Law; Environmental Law and Sustainable
Developmen; European Union Law in a Global Economy;
Industrial and Commercial Law; International Law;
International Banking and Finance; International and
Comparative Criminal justice; International Economic
Law; International and Comparative Human Rights;
International Trade Law. Those programmes are offered
full and part-time.

Fees
The fee for the LLM is set annually and you should consult

ac.uk/llm For 2009-20010 the fees are: Home/EU students
£4000 (4000 euros) Overseas Students £9000 (9000 euros)
Accomodation
We have reserved accommodation for postgraduate
students, offered on a first-come first-served basis and
we cannot guarantee to house all students. However,
every assistance will be given to students to find suitable
private accommodation.
