Zeptosens produces and distributes a comprehensive,<br />

planar waveguide based microarray plat<strong>for</strong>m achiev<strong>in</strong>g<br />

highest sensitivity yet requir<strong>in</strong>g little or no sample<br />

preparation.<br />

Products comprise a readout system, DNA and prote<strong>in</strong><br />

microarrays, an image analysis software as well<br />

as spott<strong>in</strong>g and assay reagents.<br />

Zeptosens offers a high quality spott<strong>in</strong>g service <strong>for</strong><br />

oligonucleotides, antibodies and cell lysates as well as<br />

a comprehensive and efficient prote<strong>in</strong> profil<strong>in</strong>g service<br />

<strong>for</strong> quantitative detection of marker prote<strong>in</strong>s <strong>in</strong> cell<br />

and tissue lysates.<br />

Typical Application Areas<br />

Drug research and development, and particularly Systems Biology<br />

require a detailed understand<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>the</strong> biological events <strong>in</strong><br />

cellular systems and thus a multiparallel parameter detection and<br />

quantification.<br />

Microarrays enable a quick and precise gene as well as prote<strong>in</strong><br />

expression analysis, prote<strong>in</strong> activation and biomarker monitor<strong>in</strong>g<br />

with m<strong>in</strong>ute amounts of samples.<br />

Methods <strong>for</strong> simultaneous and efficient detection of lowest concentration<br />

A particle-free cleanroom facility is required to produce microarrays<br />

with typical detection areas hav<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> size of some onehundredth<br />

of a square millimeter to ensure absence of contam<strong>in</strong>ation<br />

and str<strong>in</strong>gently monitored standard operat<strong>in</strong>g procedures.<br />

Specific chip surfaces, assays and production methods have been<br />

developed <strong>for</strong> applications <strong>in</strong> genomics and proteomics to obta<strong>in</strong><br />

optimal results <strong>for</strong> gene expression analysis as well as <strong>for</strong><br />

prote<strong>in</strong> profil<strong>in</strong>g or <strong>the</strong> antibody based detection of low and high<br />

molecular weight natural and syn<strong>the</strong>tic compounds.<br />
