Dear Colleagues,
The Compact Verlag has continued to improve the presentation
of its publications. The new preview you have
received is structured more clearly and gives you all the
information you require at a glance. Here you will find
new publications and the backlist in the learning and
know-ledge categories: in the areas of language as well
as mathematics, physics, chemistry and other subjects.
Compact is a market leader for Readers. Our publishing
house offers a comprehensive programme for self-study,
courses and classes. Compact Learning Thrillers alone –
now up to 100 available titles – have sold around 1.6 million
copies. The modular system on pages 6ff. will help
you advise customers: here you will find the right product
for every target group, level and learning goal.
This successful series is still being developed. The didactic
concept of the Compact Learning Thrillers has been
designed with the support of Christiane Neveling,
Professor of Didactics of the Romance Languages at the
University of Leipzig’s Institute of Romance Languages.
The work that has been done on the content is also
reflected in the layout of the new study books. Vocabulary
boxes are now on the page where the words are introduced
to improve learning success – which saves the
bother of looking things up. New info boxes on particular
linguistic and grammatical aspects make access to the
learning material even easier than before.
And by focusing on current trends, Compact study books
are reaching additional target groups – take a look at the
new Vampire Stories series (pp. 4-5)!

The language course program Compact Audio-Learning
with MP3 enabled tracks is specifically designed for selflearners.
