Firmware Architect for Smart Cards
(m/f), Your Responsibilities: The
Firmware Architect will work on
projects in the area of embedded
software and firmware development for
security certified contact and
contactless smart cards and contactless
smart card readers. Typical applications
range from access control systems to
electronic identity cards. The Firmware
Architect is responsible for -
Translation of market requirements into
product specifications, acting as the
prime technical interface role to the
product manager - Definition of
firmware architecture together with the
design team, taking security /
performance and hardware / software
trade-offs into account - Providing
effort estimations for planning the
technical tasks within the project -
Specification and documentation (in
English) according to security
certification requirements - Guidance
of the development team during
implementation of the defined
architecture, ensuring full functionality
of the system - Designing security
critical parts of the product - Writing
the acceptance test specification -
Further improvement of firmware
design, verification and validation
methodologies - Driving innovation for
smart card products Your Profile: -
Degree in electrical engineering,
electronics, computer science or similar
- Min. 10 years experience in
embedded software architecture,
design, and development - Experience
in technically leading and steering
software development teams -
Experience in software test techniques -
Programming languages: C, C++/C#,
Microcontroller Assembler for 8bit and
32bit CPUs - Know-how on code
optimization (performance, footprint) -
Knowledge of security protocols, and
basic knowledge of security and
cryptography - Experience in technical
documentation, requirements
management, and configuration
management - Knowledge of
development models (e.g. V, V XT,
Waterfall/Staged gates, Scrum) -
Experience using integrated
development environments, MS
Windows, MS Office - Team player
with good communication skills - Good
organizational skills - Fluent English

minimum salary for this position
amounts to ¤ 43000,- gross per year.
Higher payment is possible with higher
qualification and/or longer work
