AQA therm SLA selbst muss senkrecht stehen,
artung
Abhängig vom Verschmutzungsgrad des
Heizungswassers, sollte der AQA therm SLA
in regelmässigen Abständen ausgespült werden.
Ein geeignetes, wärmebeständiges Gefäss
unterstellen und langsam den Kugelhahn öffnen.
Vorsicht!
nehmen).
Danach kann der Schnellentlüfter demontiert
und gereinigt werden.
Den Schnellentlüfter nach erfolgter Reinigung
wieder fachmännisch montieren und AQA
therm SLA in Betrieb nehmen.
Aus korrosionstechnischen Gründen sollte
der Magnetabscheider regelmässig von allen
angelagerten Partikeln gereinigt werden (keine
chemischen Reinigungsmittel verwenden).
AQA therm SLA
Sludge and air separator
Product data sheet
15.104
Intended use
The AQA therm SLA is built into the heating
circuit (return pipes) and serves to separate
sludge particles and air from the heating water.
If the water has coarse dirt particles a coarse dirt
separator should be connected in series. The
AQA therm SLA serves to protect the heating
unit and, by its continuous separation of air and
sludge particles, provides additional protection
against corrosion.
IMPORTANT: If aluminium materials are used in
the heating unit, the AQA therm SLA must not
be installed.
Function
The AQA therm SLA is equipped with a sludge
and dirt particle reduction unit based on the
cyclonique principle.
This ensures effective separation of the particles
while at the same time preventing a loss of flow
caused by clogging of the filter element.
In this way the AQA therm SLA helps the heating
unit to perform efficiently.
If there is air in the unit, it will rise to the highest
point in the AQA therm SLA, where the quick
vent valve is located.
The air causes the water level in the AQA therm
SLA to sink, and the float draws the float arm till
it is facing down, thus opening the quick vent
valve, through which the air can escape. The
water level and the float rise again, and the float
arm closes the quick vent valve.
The quick vent valve is absolutely drop-free. Dirt
and suspended solids cannot penetrate into the
ventilation mechanism.
The SLA integrated in the AQA therm magnetic
separator ensures the separation of
ferromagnetic metals in the heating unit.
The blind plug contained in the scope of delivery
also contains a magnetic separator.
Scope of delivery
- AQA therm SLA
- Connection unit incl. screw joints and seals
- Quick vent valve
- Insulation
- Ball cock
- Magnetic separator (the optional AQA therm
SLA corrosion protection element can also
be used)
Installation conditions
Local installation regulations, general guidelines
and technical data must be observed.
The installation site must be frost-proof and the
plant protected against chemicals, dyes,
solvents, fumes and environmental influences.
The AQA therm SLA is not suitable for the
separation of oils, fats, solvents, soaps and other
smearing media, nor for the separation of watersoluble
materials.
In order to ensure the gases escape, the AQA
therm SLA must be installed with the quick vent
valve facing upwards. The AQA therm SLA itself
must stand vertically, while the connection unit
can be installed in horizontal and vertical pipes.
Thus the AQA therm SLA can be easily
maintained without emptying the heating unit.
Before the installation of the AQA therm SLA the
pipes must be rinsed out.
The heating unit must be rinsed and filled in
keeping with VDI 2035 and pursuant to the
recommendation contained in the VdTÜV
Directive.
Operation and maintenance
Depending on how contaminated the heating
water is, the AQA therm SLA should be rinsed
out at regular intervals.
Place a suitable, heat-proof vessel under it and
slowly open the ball valve. Caution! Danger of
scalding!
After approx. 4-6 l close the ball valve again.
Refill heating unit if necessary.
In order to avoid malfunctions of the quick vent
valve caused by dirt particles borne in from
outside, the valve cap should remain on the
quick vent valve.
By slackening it by two revolutions enough cross
section will be released over the slot of the
knurled cap to ensure flawless functioning.
The quick vent valve requires, depending on the
consistency and quality of the liquid, periodic
maintenance by a professional.
For this reason the AQA therm SLA should be
mounted on readily accessible parts of the
heating unit.
Should the quick vent valve have become leaky
as a result of dirt particles being sluiced in or
whisked up, the shut-off valves upstream and
downstream of the AQA therm SLA must be
closed (take heating unit out of commission).
Then the quick vent valve can be removed and
cleaned.
After cleaning have the quick vent valve
reassembled by an expert and recommission
the AQA therm SLA.
For corrosion-related reasons the magnetic
separator should be regularly cleansed of all
accumulated particles (do not use any chemical
cleaning agents).
