New Industrial Standards for Fasteners
There are a number of Industrial Standards for Fasteners under revision.
The changes to DIN ISO and DIN EN are being continued progressively.
Measurements are being changed in some cases.
A close cooperation between Supplier and Dealer is necessary to follow up on
these changes and to agree on a changeover date.
Mid year 1993 the width across flats on four different sizes of hexagon bolts
and nuts was changed.

Changes on hexagon nuts are analogous to hexagon bolts. Note the changes
on the heights of hexagon nuts (Type 1 – ISO 4032).
Also note the revisions for pins and bolts (i.e. DIN 7 is new EN ISO 2338,
Bolt DIN 1434, 1435, 1436 are new EN ISO 2341).
New EN ISO Standards containing dimensional changes for slotted and Phillips
head screws have been issued in October 1994.
The main Standard of the DIN 267 part 1, 4, 5, 9, 11, 12, 18, 19, 20, 21
has been replaced by DIN EN ISO.
It has been established categorically that EN standards are not listed with five
- digit numbers. The pre - code EN ISO indicates that the ISO standard has
been bindingly adopted as EN.
For a considerable time there will be a double stock keeping in order to be
able to satisfy all demands.
