Veranstaltungsnachbericht SOLID Konferenz (04.-06. Oktober 2010, Berlin)
Interviews
“We had good time for discussions and we could exchange best practise and experiences we never
changed.”
(Soulus Konstantinos, Hellenic Police Headquarters, Greece)
“I find almost everything interesting. Especially the European Commission and the Legal Framework
as well as best practise from other countries were useful. More practical information about other
projects and annual programme for each country would be good.”
(Andres Constantinou, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cyprus)
“For the Auditing Unit the presentations for Auditing and On-the-spot-checks were really interesting.”
(Mazis Fotios, Responsible Authority for EBF, Ministry of Citizen Protection, Greece)
“More information about annual programmes and how it is implemented so far would be perfect.”
(Lena Karamanli, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Delegated Authority of EBF, Cyprus)
“I have experienced it has developed a lot the whole SOLID Instrument. Most important to hear and
share the information of the Member States. For me it was most interesting to hear about the
experiences of the new Member States. They have rapid developments on these SOLID instruments.”
(Paulina Eskola, Ministry of Interior, Finland)
“I am very satisfied because for us it is a good way learning more about the Member States what they
actually need regarding the measurable funds. Ok we know a lot because we are visiting the Member
States regularly but still we learn more when all these people are together and can share experiences.
So it is useful. I learned that there are still a lot of problems which we have to solve. I made a lot of
good contacts. Here I met a lot of other Member States which whom I am not in regular contact. So it
is always really useful to have these possibilities of networking. It is very important for these people to
meet. So that they can exchange their difficulties and to find solutions because sometimes a Member
State already found a solution and the other can copy it. So it is good to share practise.”
(Patrick Lefévre, ERF Coordinator, European Commission, Belgium)
“It was very useful to discuss the issues between the Member States and the NGO’s. And also what
we are doing this afternoon which is about exchange of best practise and overview things is quite
useful. I liked the template of the Belgium colleagues very much. It would have been better to have
this conference three years ago at the beginning but it is still accomplishing something and we need to
look what is next – what else we can do to make it easier. We are starting to do reporting. So we need
to concentrate on reporting more in the near future. See what the problems are and what we can do
about this.”
(Johanne Lamirande, Head of Responsible Authority for ERF, EIF and RF,
UK Border Agency, United Kingdom)
