1. Application<br />
The air-termination rod can be used to install isolated lightning protection air-termination<br />
systems according to DIN EN 62305-3 (VDE 0185-305-3), IEC 62305-3. When using the airtermination<br />
rod, the ”protective angle method” has to be applied. The protective angle depends<br />
on the class of LPS (risk level) and on the height of the air-termination rod above the surface<br />
to be protected. For more details on values, please refer to DIN EN 62305-3 (VDE 0185-305-3),<br />
IEC 62305-3 Table 3 (see also Table 1 and Fig. 1). Alternatively, the ”rolling sphere method” can<br />
be applied for positioning the air-termination rod.<br />
The air-termination rods specified in the installation instructions are designed for wind load zone<br />
II according to DIN 4131. If installed correctly, the air-termination rods can stand up to wind<br />
load influences up to 145 km/h.<br />
