for QMS AG
DEKRA Award finalist honoured at EFQM Forum
A successful participant in the DEKRA
Award competition last year, Quality
Management Service AG was delighted
to receive a further award on 11 October
2001. QMS was one of the 2001 European
Quality Prize winners in the
category for small and medium size
companies in Lucerne. The consulting
company based in Ensdorf in Bavaria
managed to convince the jury with
its sustained implementation of the
EFQM model for excellence. Similar
to the European Quality Awards, the
European Quality Prizes are presented
annually in five categories.
“For us, Total Quality Management
is not merely the latest management
craze, rather an integral part of our
corporate culture,” QMS director
Hans-Joachim Schneider explained
the recent success. “For us it is obvious
that we should ourselves apply
the principles which we routinely
advise our customers to adopt.” For
nearly ten years now Quality Management
Service AG has been active in
the fields of Quality, Environment,
Human Resources, Strategy and TQM
and now has access to a global network
of roughly 100 consultants and
partner organisations.
Fit for change
with ISO 9001:2000
New quality of service at Druck & Media
A further DEKRA Award finalist
reached its goal last June when it
obtained DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 certification.
Druck & Media GmbH of
Kronach is one of the first companies
in the Upper Franconia region with a
quality management system based on
the new standard.
The system supplier for media design
was still a conventional printing press
until the end of the 90s. It now has 50
employees and it is well prepared to
respond to the rapid and ongoing
changes affecting the industry. With
their new quality approach to management,
the managing partners
Lorenz Wächtler and Heinz Schumann
are rising to meet the increasing
demands stemming from the new
technologies and the international
competition. Certification signals
the start of the company-wide improvement
process which involves all
employees. These are showing great
commitment to the process, but this
is scarcely surprising: Druck & Media
was one of the top three finalists in last
year’s DEKRA Award for Employee
Involvement.
