Start the generator first, then connect the welding unit. The idle voltage should be set to approx. 240 volts,
adjust the voltage if needed. When turning the generator off, disconnect the welding unit first.
CAUTION! The working output power of the generator decreases by about 10% per 1,000 m of altitude.
During the welding process no further devices connected to the same generator should be operated.
3 Service and Repair
As the unit is used in applications that are sensitive to safety considerations, it may be serviced and repaired
only on our premises or by partners who were specifically trained and authorized by us. Thus,
constantly high standards of operation quality and safety are maintained.
IMPORTANT!
Non-compliance with this provision will dispense the manufacturer from any warranty and liability claims
for the unit and any consequential damage.
When serviced, the unit is automatically upgraded to the technical specifications with which the product is
currently shipped, and we grant a three- month functional warranty on the serviced unit.
We recommend having the device serviced at least every twelve months. In Germany, keep in mind the
follow-up check under BGV A3!
3.1 Transport, Storage, Shipment
The ROWELD ROFUSE Basic 48 is shipped in a box.
Store the ROWELD ROFUSE Basic 48 in the transport box dry and protected from humidity.
When shipped, the welding unit should be placed into the transport box at any time.
4 Check-out and Principle of Operation
• To operate the ROWELD ® ROFUSE Basic 48 Welding Unit, be sure that it is positioned on a proper
surface.
• Be sure that power supply/generator protection is 16 A (slow).
• Plug the power supply cord into the mains power supply or the generator.
• Read and comply with the User’s Manual.
• Check the unit for damage.
• Have problems repaired.
The ROWELD ROFUSE Basic 48 allows welding electrofusion fittings that feature a bar code, provided it
conforms to the specification set by the standard ISO TR 13950 Every fitting is provided with a tag with
the bar code on it. The code contains information about the proper welding of the component. It also allows
entering some of these data manually.
Before welding starts, a temperature sensor on the welding cable checks the ambient temperature, and
the welding transformer temperature is monitored while welding is in progress. The microprocessorcontrolled
ROWELD ROFUSE Basic 48 Welding Unit:-
• controls and monitors the welding process in a fully automated way,
• determines welding duration depending on the ambient temperature,
• additionally records the characteristics of the welding process to a report.
With a generator, the ROWELD ROFUSE Basic 48 has to be operated at 220 - 240 volts AC with a frequency
of 50 - 60 Hz. If one of these parameters is outside the tolerance thresholds, the unit stops operation
after 15 seconds or refuses to start operation.
