new strategies and solutions for enriching urban spaces.<br />
Thanks to Francesca Ferguson’s effective curating,<br />
“<strong>Make</strong>_<strong>Shift</strong> <strong>City</strong>” did not dissolve into diversity, but the<br />
wide range of individual examples coalesced into one<br />
fundamental issue: how to endow the transformation<br />
process and approaches to the city with a sense of<br />
directionality.<br />
Credit is also due to the numerous participants, many<br />
of them consciously pursuing interdisciplinary careers<br />
that transgress the borders of traditional professions.<br />
Thanks also to Kunstwerke Berlin e.V. for supplying the<br />
infrastructure that enabled everyone to engage in the<br />
discussion process productively. All of these played their<br />
part in shaping <strong>Make</strong>_<strong>Shift</strong> <strong>City</strong> into a project that helped<br />
to create a broad discursive platform as a basis for the<br />
ongoing conversation on the future of the city.<br />
