Luftfahrt, ein Maßnahmenpaket umzusetzen, das vor
allem darauf abzielt, die Sichtbarkeit des Bauhaus Luftfahrt
zu erhöhen und seine Eingliederung in die nationale
Forschungslandschaft noch stärker zu betonen.
Ich bin überzeugt, dass dieser in Europa einzigartige
Thinktank so seine Bedeutung für die deutsche Luftfahrtforschung
noch besser unter Beweis stellen kann.
Da hervorragende Ergebnisse nur durch engagierte
Arbeit von hochqualifizierten und motivierten Mitarbeitern
hervorgebracht werden, möchte ich mich im Namen
des Beirats an dieser Stelle nicht nur für das Ergebnis der
wissenschaftlichen Evaluierung, sondern allgemein für
die geleistete Arbeit bei Vorstand und Mitarbeitern des
Bauhaus Luftfahrt bedanken. Für die Zukunft wünsche ich
dem Bauhaus Luftfahrt weiterhin alles Gute und viel
Erfolg!

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen
The aviation industry is subject to the highest quality
standards, which are regularly checked by authorities
and audits.
Also a research institution such as Bauhaus Luftfahrt
must undergo a quality check at regular intervals. In
the academic world, scientific evaluation is the usual
method. External and independent expert committees
examine for example strategy, scientific profile, internal
structures and processes as well as research activities of
the examinee.
In July 2016, Bauhaus Luftfahrt concluded its evaluation
by a commission of high-ranking representatives
from other research institutions as well as from the business
community with very good success. In addition to
the overall importance of Bauhaus Luftfahrt for aviation
research, the commission emphasised in particular the
quality of its research on the mobility of the future and
development of air transport as well as the dissemination
of the research results achieved with the aim of raising
awareness in research, industry, politics and society.
As Chairman of the Advisory Board, I am pleased to
work with my advisory councillors and the Bauhaus Luftfahrt
Management Board to implement a package of
measures aimed above all at increasing the visibility of
Bauhaus Luftfahrt and further emphasising its integration
into the national research landscape.
I am convinced that this think tank, unique in Europe,
is even better able to prove its importance for German
aviation research.
As excellent results are achieved only by committed
work of highly qualified and motivated employees, I would
like to thank the Executive Directors and the employees
of Bauhaus Luftfahrt in the name of the Advisory Board
for their contribution to the results of the scientific evaluation.
For the future, I would like to wish Bauhaus Luftfahrt
all the best and much success!
