A most cordial welcome to Klosters to all National Teams and coaches, officials and referees, ball boys and girls, volunteers and spectators to the European Junior Championships 18 & U 2019. The EJCS are a fixed highlight of the Klosters summer. This year, after its return in 2010, the EJCS take place again already for the 10th time. The Association Tennis Turniere Klosters is proud to organise this most important event of the European Junior circuit. We not only enjoy the trust of Tennis Europe and Swiss Tennis, but also of the Klosters community and sports associations, and are happy to report that we received the official confirmation of holding the event until 2022. Since the first EJCS in 1994, with Martina Hingis (then 14) being the girls’ winner, many later great names can be found on the participants’ lists. The most successful EJCS winners, at current, are Karen Kharchanov, RUS (2013), and Stefanos Tsitsipas, GRE (2016), both already ranking among the top ten players. Therefore, the EJCS in Klosters are a perfect launching pad for a professional career, a proof of the high quality of the matches played here. As already in the past two years, Madrisa as the «presenting partner», invites both locals and guests to the Opening Ceremony of the EJCS on Madrisa, July 21. The complementary ride to Madrisa is offered after 3 p.m., the official Opening Ceremony will start at 4.30 p.m. We are looking forward to numerous spectators joining us. Together with all participants and spectators we are looking forward to great weather and joyful, fair and fun European Junior Championships. Liane Alban Liane Alban 11
