Cool Down für das Kraftwerk Pocerady
14.300 m Kühlwasserleitung für den neuen
880 MW Kraftwerkblock
formulierte Aufgabenstellung lautete: Kontinuierliche
14,300 m of cooling water pipeline for the
new 880 MW power station block
The cooling water pipeline has been replaced as part of
building a new power station block with an output of 880
MW. In place of the old steel pipeline, 14,300 m of new
pipeline has been installed that is made from PE 100 and has
the dimensions OD 710 SDR 11.
The task specified by CEZ, the company that owns the power
station, was to provide a continuous supply of sufficient cooling
water to the power station block. The decision to use
polyethylene as the pipe material was greatly influenced by
its easy handling on the building site and the material’s flexibility.
Added advantages are that no encrustations form in PE
pipes and the corrosion-resistance of the material.
Support from our sales partner in the Czech Republic, Gerex
Liberec s.r.o. from Liberec, and egeplast Technical Service
commenced at this early stage of the project. It was of help
when conducting the hydrostatic calculation of volume and
pressure loss to establish the requisite dimensions, when determining
whether or not compensators are needed and when
adapting the required fittings at the necessary pressure level.
The project consultancy resulted in invitations to tender for PE
Aufgrund von Korrosion und Inkrustationen
in und an der alten Stahlleitung
entschieden sich die Projektverantwortlichen,
für die neue
Leitung PE-Rohre einzusetzen.
Die Größenordnung der Baumaßnahme
stellte hohe Anforderungen
an die Logistik. Dies galt sowohl
für egeplast als auch für die Verlegefirma,
z.B. um die Rohrstränge
für die Verlegung vorzubereiten.
Four welding teams on site connected
the lengths of piping using
butt fusion welding.
Due to corrosion and encrustations
in and on the old steel pipeline,
those responsible for the project
decided to use PE pipes for the
new pipeline.
The scale of the building measure
placed high logistical demands
both on egeplast and on the installing
company to prepare the pipe
runs for installation.
pipes with OD 710 mm in SDR 11 including the necessary
moulded parts and fittings.
Installation of the new cooling water pipeline began in September
2009, and the first pipes were delivered to the building site
by truck. In order to be able to complete a project of this scale
on time, the installation team comprising four welding groups
worked round the clock on the new pipeline. The individual
trucks therefore delivered pipes according to a precise schedule
which was adhered to without a problem due to the logistics experience
with major pipe projects. The last pipes were delivered
according to schedule and the client’s requirements in February
2010. As a result of the experiences at this building site and the
extremely effective teamwork between planning engineer, client
and egeplast, the investor will also be using egeplast PE 100
pipes in future building measures involving pipes. n
