Baroque and Blue
■ Christiane Meininger, flute
studied under Prof. Ricarda Bröhl at the Musikhochschule, Aachen and distinguished herself as Severino
Gazzelloni’s best student at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. She founded several chamber music
ensembles, among them Baroque and Blue and the Meininger Trio (flute, cello, piano) that in the space of
a few years have earned outstanding reputations.
The flautist sets great store by the realisation of musical ideas and the creative communication with her
fellow chamber musicians and composers associated with that. In this way fresh and original projects
and which are frequently recorded in radio and CD productions.
Vitalij Margulis were a source of great stimulus, as was his introduction to Peter Feuchtwanger and his
artistic and pedagogical concept. He was an award winner in the Concours International de Piano d’Epinal
1971 and the Concurso Internacional Maria Canals, Barcelona 1973.
Apart from his solo repertoire Rainer Gepp devotes time to important works of chamber music in
a wide variety of instrumental formations, e.g. in the Arcadia Trio (violin, cello, piano) and in the
Arion Trio (soprano, horn, piano). He has toured extensively in Europe and also throughout the USA
(including a concert in the Carnegie Hall, New York). Radio and CD recordings (e.g. all Beethoven’s
