Nitzanim Day <strong>Camp</strong><br />

Fun-filled basic summer camp<br />

Think of our Nitzanim Day <strong>Camp</strong> as your basic,<br />

all around summer day camp experience. It<br />

offers a little something for everyone and<br />

is ideally suited for first-time campers and<br />

younger campers who want to experience<br />

an exciting variety of activities. It is many of<br />

the specialty camps all rolled into one with<br />

an emphasis on weekly themes. Specialists<br />

lead activities in arts and crafts, sports and<br />

games, Israeli culture with a visiting Israeli<br />

scout counselor, drama and nature.<br />

Daily Red Cross instructional and recreational<br />

swimming and a weekly Shabbat celebration<br />

round out some of Nitzanim’s activities.<br />

Weekly field trips take place on Tuesdays,<br />

Wednesdays or Thursdays depending on the<br />

week. One day each week is supplemented<br />

with a field day with themed activities.<br />

Fridays are known as “Super Fridays” where<br />

campers create their own schedules and<br />

choose between traditional activities (sports,<br />

arts) and alternative activities (slip-and-slide,<br />

scavenger hunts, wacky water fun and more).<br />

<strong>Camp</strong>s<br />

Specialty <strong>Camp</strong>s<br />

The <strong>JCC</strong>’s more than 30 Specialty <strong>Camp</strong>s allow kids to explore<br />

a specific interest area for an entire week. Choose from arts,<br />

sports, nature, gymnastics, rocketry and more! Descriptions for<br />

all of our Specialty <strong>Camp</strong>s start below.<br />

In addition to each camp’s special focus area, campers participate in daily Red Cross swim<br />

instruction and recreational swimming. Some swim times may be limited due to schedules<br />

and possible travel times. A typical Specialty <strong>Camp</strong> day includes 30 minutes of instructional<br />

swim, 45 minutes of recreational swimming and 2–4 hours of dedicated time in the specialty<br />

activity. After registering, you will receive detailed camp-specific information.<br />

3D Art with Mark Raush<br />

• Week 7: August 7–11<br />

• For children entering grades 1 & up<br />

• Price Level: C<br />

Sculpt with various materials to create threedimensional<br />

works of art. Use clay, wood, paper,<br />

and more, or try multi-media construction!<br />

Enrollment: Minimum of 8 and maximum of 24<br />

campers.<br />

All Sports Café<br />

• Week 1: June 26–30<br />

• Week 8: August 14–18<br />

• For children entering grades 1 & up<br />

• Price Level: C<br />

<strong>Camp</strong>ers will have a menu of sport options every<br />

day including tennis, basketball, hockey, soccer,<br />

baseball, and more. Enrollment: Minimum of 8 and<br />

maximum of 24 campers.<br />

Baseball with<br />

Le Moyne College<br />

• Week 5: July 24–28<br />

• For children entering grades 1 & up<br />

• Price Level: B<br />

Skill development, instruction, and games<br />

with Le Moyne College assistant coach Chris<br />

Murphy. Please register according to skill level.<br />

Requirements: <strong>Camp</strong>ers should come equipped<br />

with baseball gloves. Enrollment: Minimum of 8<br />

and maximum of 24 campers.<br />

Mac’s Hoop Stars<br />

• Beginner Players<br />

Learn the fundamentals of one of America’s<br />

favorite sports! Coach Bob McKenney coordinates<br />

this camp with drills and games using regulation<br />

and lowered rims. Please register according<br />

to skill level. Enrollment: Minimum of 8 and<br />

maximum of 24 campers.<br />

Bowling at Bowl-Mor Lanes<br />

• Week 3: July 10–14<br />

• For children entering<br />

grades 1 & up<br />

• Price Level: A<br />

Learn bowling skills and techniques as part of<br />

<strong>Camp</strong> Rishon’s “bowling team.” Bowling shoes<br />

provided. Rock and Bowl on Friday! <strong>Camp</strong>ers will<br />

have the option to purchase a bowling ball from<br />

the pro shop at a discounted rate. Enrollment:<br />

Minimum of 10 and maximum of 24 campers.<br />

Boys Lacrosse with<br />

Le Moyne College<br />

• Week 4: July 17–21<br />

• For children entering grades 1 & up<br />

• Price Level: B<br />

Le Moyne coaches will lead the instruction and<br />

focus on fine-tuning your lacrosse skills. All<br />

levels welcome. Requirements: <strong>Camp</strong>ers must<br />

bring a lacrosse stick and helmet/face mask —no<br />

exceptions! Enrollment: Minimum of 8 and a<br />

maximum of 24 campers.<br />
