Dear Friends,
We at the Sam Pomeranz Jewish Community Center have
a lot to be thankful for. A wonderful community where
we live and work. Awesome members and families whom
we serve. And excellent, caring employees and board
members. We count our blessings every day because
earlier this year we went through some pretty challenging
times.
During the waves of threats made against many Jewish
organizations at the start of this year, our campus was
targeted three times.
Thankfully, the threats were
not credible and no one
was harmed. However, our
bottom line was bruised as
several families left our childcare programs. But we did
not let this diminish our spirit or our commitment to the
community.
Happy is he who performs a good deed:

We came out swinging, figuratively, and clawed our way
back to some sort of normalcy. The financials slowly
started to come around. We ended the school year still
a bit wary but happy with our progress. Our summer
camp season was excellent, which further boosted our
confidence and determination. And after completing
our new secure lobby entrance this fall, we feel like we’ve
come full circle with our enhanced safety and security
measures.
I care about the Sam Pomeranz Jewish Community Center of Syracuse and its future. I also identify with and understand
the importance of the JCC to Jewish life in this community. I would like to make the following contribution*:

Which brings us to where we are now. As the end of this
year rapidly approaches, we are grateful for everyone
in our community who has stood with us through such
trying times. Despite the uncertainty, we continued
to support hundreds of local working families with
quality childcare and area seniors with our kosher meal
program. Your past contributions to our end-of-year
campaign have enabled us to meet the needs of our
members and neighbors. We once again look to your
generosity as we seek to maintain our key place within
the community. Please remember that when you give to
the JCC you provide a gift that will last throughout the
year.

diverse needs of those in our community. Your generous
