Description: The South West Sydney Young Carers Program assists
young people completing their primary/secondary education
or the vocational equivalent course and providing care and
support to a family member with a disability, member,
fragile aged, mental or physical illness and/or drug and
alcohol issue. The program supports young carers to better
manage and balance their education and caring
responsibilities through providing: respite services,
housework assistance, tutoring, transport assistance,
material support and skills development, as well as
recreational activities and events. The program is available
for young carers living in South West Sydney region
including Bankstown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Campbelltown,
Camden, Wollondilly and Wingecarribee. A Young carer
eligible for this program doesn’t have to register with
Centerlink as a carer.
Age: Young carers aged 25 years and under
Open: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. Emergency
Respite Available 24 Hours, 7 Days

Description: The Drum provides a service for young people in the
Macarthur area who may be in crisis, homeless or dealing
with drug and alcohol issues. Youth Caseworkers provide a
safe and welcoming environment where young people can
access Assessment referral, outreach and drop in to gain
support, information and referrals in a variety of areas such
as accommodation, D&A, counselling, legal life skills,
employment, education, welfare and general information.
