Description: The South West Sydney Young Carers Program assists<br />
young people completing their primary/secondary education<br />
or the vocational equivalent course and providing care and<br />
support to a family member with a disability, member,<br />
fragile aged, mental or physical illness and/or drug and<br />
alcohol issue. The program supports young carers to better<br />
manage and balance their education and caring<br />
responsibilities through providing: respite services,<br />
housework assistance, tutoring, transport assistance,<br />
material support and skills development, as well as<br />
recreational activities and events. The program is available<br />
for young carers living in South West Sydney region<br />
including Bankstown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Campbelltown,<br />
<strong>Camden</strong>, Wollondilly and Wingecarribee. A Young carer<br />
eligible for this program doesn’t have to register with<br />
Centerlink as a carer.<br />
Age: Young carers aged 25 years and under<br />
Open: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm. Emergency<br />
Respite Available 24 Hours, 7 Days<br />

Description: The Drum provides a service for young people in the<br />
Macarthur area who may be in crisis, homeless or dealing<br />
with drug and alcohol issues. Youth Caseworkers provide a<br />
safe and welcoming environment where young people can<br />
access Assessment referral, outreach and drop in to gain<br />
support, information and referrals in a variety of areas such<br />
as accommodation, D&A, counselling, legal life skills,<br />
employment, education, welfare and general information.<br />
