Legend has it that in the 1800s, Lord amassed<br />
his wealth by hanging lanterns in trees near his<br />

the reef, he would plunder the ships for their<br />
treasure. Bonnet was known as “the gentleman<br />
pirate” for his lifestyle as a relatively wealthy<br />
landowner before he turned to piracy in the<br />
early 18th century. He captured and burned<br />
several ships before his hanging in 1718.<br />
