ElECTRICITY: 220 volts/60 cycles, same as the U.S.<br />
on French side. 110 volts on Dutch side.<br />
ClImATE: The northeast trade winds keep you cool<br />
while you enjoy the warm tropical weather. The annual<br />
average temperature ranges from 75° F in the cooler<br />
months of winter, to 88° F in the summer months.<br />
mARRIAGE REQUIREmENTS: St. Maarten — Couple<br />
must request permission for marriage from the Lt.<br />
Governor, with a mandatory fee of $276.<br />
St. Martin — Proof of citizenship and medical certificate<br />
issued on the island are all required and must be<br />
translated into French. A mandatory 6-month residency<br />
for one partner is required before applying for license,<br />
and a 1-month on-island residency for the other<br />
partner is required as well.<br />
