R. Thomas Blackburn Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Law Basic income tax, corporate tax, estate and gift tax, partnership tax, business organizations, corporate finance, business planning Professor Blackburn received his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt Law School and his LL.M. from Harvard Law School. While practicing law as a partner in a local law firm, Professor Blackburn lectured at the School of Law from 1971 to 1976. in 1976 he joined the faculty as an Associate Professor, became Professor of Law in 1979 and served as Associate Dean in 1990, 1991 and 1994. Professor Blackburn is admitted to practice before the Federal and Kentucky bars and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Kentucky and Tennessee. He is a member of the American, Kentucky and Louisville Bar Associations, the Kentucky Society of CPAs and belongs to various subcommittees dealing with tax and business law issues. Professor Blackburn focuses his research and writing on tax and corporate law topics. 10
Peter Scott Campbell Technical Services Librarian Scott Campbell has a B.A. and an M.L.S., both from Indiana University. Prior to joining the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, Mr. Campbell worked at Queens Borough Public Library from 1988 to 1994 as a reference librarian for the Social Science and Fine Arts departments of the library’s Central Division. He also served as an assistant branch manager and automation librarian. Hired by the University of Louisville in December 1994 as an automation librarian for the School of Law's library, Mr. Campbell has upgraded the library's computer lab and established a number of Internet web pages for the library and the Brandeis School of Law. He currently oversees the library's technical services. Mr. Campbell served on the Brandeis Sesquicentennial Planning Committee and manages the library's collection of Supreme Court Justices Louis D. Brandeis's and John Marshall Harlan’s papers. He has conducted presentations on the Brandeis papers for law students, faculty, alumni and guests that include Supreme Courts Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer.
