Board accepts policy recommendations
The year 1904 saw the Ladies of
the Faculty (pre-UWC name)
form our constitution, although
the actual beginning was in 1900
with dues of $1. Since then, policy
committees have amended
pages and revised operational
procedures numerous times as
needed. Current board approval
for three recommendations about
officers’ duties and a standing
committee’s job description was
given at our fall quarterly meeting
on Sept. 27, which updated the
duties of the Treasurer to read:
1. “shall be to assist in preparation
of the budget using
an appropriate computer
program.”
The duties of the Treasurer-Elect
were updated to read:
1. “Work closely with the
Treasurer on proposed
budget and financial
statements, using an appropriate
computer program.”
The work of the Nominations
Committee was clarified to read:
“Written job descriptions must
be given to each person before
accepting a nomination” (as an

Summerfield Hall, Room125, the
Journalism Career Center, 120
Stauffer-Flint Hall, and the customer
service desk at the Edwards
Campus in Overland Park,
KS.
Acceptable items for men and
women include full suits, blazers,
skirts, professional dresses,
blouses that are appropriate for
underneath blazers or suit jackets,
ties, button-down shirts, portfolios
and briefcases
Individuals who donate should
complete the receipt (see p. 7)
and take it to the Burge Union,
Room 110 to have Erin sign it.
The form also can be scanned
and emailed to her after items
have been donated. If Erin is not
available to provide a signature,
