fan-out kits provide the ultimate solution for those users who want to field-install<br />
connectors. The kits provide the most compact, easy-to-install fan-out solution<br />
requiring no additional hardware or space than that for terminating tight-buffered<br />
cables. Indoor and outdoor kits feature a 900 µm fan-out assembly that is<br />
color-coded to match the fiber color scheme. The fan-out assembly is available with<br />
6- or 12-fiber units in lengths of 25 or 47 inches. These different lengths provide the<br />
installer the flexibility needed for a variety of hardware options.<br />

Selecting <strong>Fiber</strong> Buffer Tube Fan-out Kits<br />
Buffer Tube Fan-out (BTF) kits offer a cost-effective breakout method for the<br />
direct connectorization of the 250 µm fibers found in loose-tube fiber optic<br />
cables. The kit consists of the BTF body for 2.4 to 3.0 mm-diameter loose<br />
tubes and 6- or 12-fiber, 900 µm, color-coded, fan-out tube assemblies 25 or<br />
47 inches long. The BTF body clips directly to the loose-buffer tube containing<br />
the outdoor fiber. The number of fan-out kits required is determined by the<br />
fiber count of the cable to be installed. Loose-tube designs generally use<br />
12 fibers per tube. Check with the cable manufacturer for specifics.<br />

To order a Buffer Tube Fan-out Kit, first determine the length of<br />
tubing required for connector termination, either 25 in. or 47 in. Note: 47 in.<br />
is only recommended if installing into FDC Connector Modules; 25 in. is<br />
recommended for Connector Panels and wall-mount hardware.<br />
Next, determine the number of fibers per buffer tube.<br />
