In Loving Memory of<br />
My mother, Arrana Lubitz<br />

My mother Arrana was<br />
born and raised in<br />
Pembroke, and on Friday,<br />
April 17 th 2009 at the age<br />
of 42, she passed away of<br />
cervical cancer.<br />
Mom was a long time<br />
member of the Germania<br />
Club in Pembroke, serving<br />
as their Miss Oktoberfest,<br />
in 2007-08, and on their<br />
counsel for 2008-09, as<br />
well as coordinating the<br />
decorations for their<br />
various club functions. She<br />
was also a member of the<br />
Evangelical Lutheran<br />
Women.<br />
My mother had two jobs<br />
that she continuously<br />
worked at on a daily basis:<br />
at Westwinds at the Best<br />
Western as a Bar tender,<br />
and at Fun and Fashion as<br />
a clerk, and she enjoyed<br />
modelling for My fair Lady Bridal<br />
shop.<br />
While she was afraid of<br />
swimming and water activities,<br />
she still had the courage to go<br />
White Water Rafting in July of<br />
2007 and she accompanied<br />
myself (Sheena) in September<br />
2008 for swimming lessons,<br />
where by the end, she excelled<br />
and was able to overcome her<br />
fear of water!<br />
Family was extremely<br />
important to mother and family<br />
was always number one in her<br />
life. She did anything and<br />
everything for anyone, to the<br />
best of her abilities. She was an<br />
extraordinary loving mother,<br />
daughter, sister and friend to us<br />
all.<br />
She fought every aspect of her<br />
illness and she never ever gave<br />
up, even near the end she never<br />
stopped fighting for her life or<br />
for what she believed in.<br />
Her most favourite thing to do<br />
in last four years was to take a<br />
walk on the walkway at the<br />
marina in Pembroke, or go to the<br />
Petawawa Point and sit by the<br />
water. We knew she did this on<br />
a regular basis and never<br />
understood why. I understand<br />
now, that it was a peaceful<br />
moment for her to reflect on her<br />
life and just to get away from<br />
everything she had endured.<br />
As a family, we are all<br />
extremely proud of her<br />
accomplishments, and she is our<br />
role model. She will be<br />
extremely missed by all.<br />
