A Message from the
American Paint Horse Foundation Director
I am happy to report to you that the American Paint Horse Foundation is doing “well” and
doing “good.”
Doing “well,” is how we’re doing. In 2008, we experienced one of our best fundraising years on
record. In addition, we are creating awareness and gaining recognition for the wonderful initiatives
we’ve established. Add to that, a clearly defined mission and set of goals, and you can be assured
that the American Paint Horse Foundation will continue to do well for the future.
Doing “good,” is what we’re doing. We’ve established a historymaking
$25,000 therapeutic riding fund, simply by asking generous
people for their support. Regional Clubs, like the Oklahoma
Paint Horse Club, have stepped forward to become the program’s
biggest benefactor and driver. We have visited several thousand
school children to teach them about Paint Horses in public school
classrooms. We’ve saddled up more than 1,500 kids on Paint
Horses for the first time in their lives, and we have a youth
scholarship program that has given out more than a half million
dollars since it was established.
As you are aware, Paint Horses have the power to inspire us.
When we have a horse at the end of a lead rope, we attract attention.
People love horses, especially Paints, and see goodness when
they look at our horses. Thousands of people want to reach out and
touch our horses, and countless children and adults want to ride.
That beauty and attraction that our horses possess also help
inspire people to do great things. It’s the reason we were able to
raise $30,000 the past two years on benefit trail rides for the
children of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Paint people
and their friends just want to partner up with their horses to help.
If you are a Foundation friend who has supported us in the past, please be assured that your
generosity and hard work are touching lives in many significant ways.
If you’re new to our organization, I invite you to join us on our mission to improve our world
through the “Power of Paints.”
