13 A 1 micron change in gap on the NSLS-II U20 corresponds to a 5 volt change in peak energy at 17 keV. At that energy, a<br />

0.5 eV step is commonly used in a XANES scan. A repeatable 100 nanometer step in gap height is unrealistic.<br />
