This award-winning facility, the first of its kind<br />

in the Metropolitan D.C. area, provides a safe<br />

atmosphere for teens to meet for recreation<br />

and personal development. Professional<br />

and experienced staff members organize<br />

and facilitate activities each day, ensuring<br />

that teens do not have to return home to<br />

empty houses. They can enjoy their time at<br />

the Old Firehouse Teen Center after school<br />

and during the summer. It's a satellite of the<br />

McLean Community Center (MCC). Youth in<br />

grades 7 and 8 are eligible for membership<br />

and its benefits. Non-members are permitted<br />

to attend Friday night parties and some other<br />

programs at the discretion of the Teen Center<br />

Fun on Friday nights for 7th and 8th graders.<br />

Some nights a DJ keeps the fun alive with<br />

music and videos while the game room is open<br />

for ping-pong, pool, and other arcade games.<br />

Other nights, they do different fun things, such<br />

as movie nights, comedy shows, etc. Please see<br />

their website for details and rules.<br />

For Members Only<br />

Hang out after school with your friends in the<br />

safe environment of the teen center. Program<br />

includes weekly trips daily homework/<br />

study assistance, daily snack and drink,<br />

transportation from Cooper and Longfellow<br />

Middle Schools, computer lab and more...<br />

Members can drop in during school breaks<br />

just to hang out for free.<br />

pediatric patients with chronic illnesses who<br />

are in local children’s hospitals. The colorful,<br />

fun hats are sure to bring smiles and happy<br />

thoughts to the recipients.<br />

Food for Others Warehouse Team: sort and<br />

shelve products, clean the warehouse and<br />

keep things running smoothly. Dress warmly.<br />

club Phoenix after-School Program<br />

The Club Phoenix After-School Program runs<br />

Monday from 12:30-6:30pm and Tuesday –<br />

Friday 2:30-6:30pm for grades 6-8, during<br />

the school year. There is homework help,<br />

cooking classes, photography clubs, sports<br />

and fitness activities and much more. We also<br />

have pool tables, ping pong, a dance floor,<br />

foosball and video games. The program is free<br />

and open to any teen in the Greater Vienna<br />

area. Registration forms are available at the<br />

Community Center front desk, Club Phoenix<br />

The Teen Council, a group of youth at Club<br />

Phoenix,participate in community service<br />

projects and events ranging from stream<br />

cleanups to kids activities, in hopes of making<br />

a difference in their community. The teens<br />

are also leaders at Club Phoenix by bringing<br />

education on youth issues and volunteering at<br />

Town of Vienna events. Any students in Middle<br />

School or High School that are interested<br />

in applying for Club Phoenix Teen Council<br />

are welcome. Applications at the Vienna<br />

Community Center for the 2010-2011 school<br />
