Health Needs Assessment Toolkit

The practice will raise its profile in the local community.
There is currently considerable emphasis on the development of public health
knowledge and skills in primary care. This work provides the opportunity for
primary care professionals to acquire these skills. It provides an opportunity
to work with local people and organisations to identify not only the health
needs but the wider determinants of health as well. If these are not identified
and addressed the presenting health problems will not reduce. It develops
multi-agency working and planning at local level and offers an opportunity for
a bottom up influence on the planning of services.
