4 First aid measures<br />

General information: No special measures required.<br />

After inhalation: Supply fresh air; consult doctor in case of symptoms.<br />

After skin contact:<br />

Instantly wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.<br />

Instantly remove any clothing soiled by the product.<br />

After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for 15 minutes under running water. Then consult doctor.<br />

After swallowing:<br />

Drink plenty of water (if possible with medicinal activated charcoal)<br />

After swallowing immediately consult a doctor.<br />

<strong>Information</strong> for doctor:<br />

Treatment: symptomatical treatment (decontamination, vitalfunctions), no specific antidot known.<br />

In the case of inhalation remain under medical observation for 48 hours.<br />

Swallowing of large amounts can cause incident of gastrointestinal tract.<br />

May produce methemoglobinemia, which at higher concentration will lead to cyanosis.<br />

5 Fire fighting measures<br />

Suitable extinguishing agents:<br />

CO2, water sprinklejet or alcohol resistant foam.<br />

Use fire fighting measures that suit the environment.<br />

Unsuitable extinguishing agents (for safety reasons): Water jet.<br />

Avoid desiccate<br />

For safety reasons flush pump with water before operation in any case. After every operation flush<br />

pump with water to avoid formation of any solid residues. Do not operate pump while valves are<br />

shut (see item 8 and TRGS 511, 4.4).<br />

<strong>Information</strong> on protection against explosions and fires:<br />

Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.<br />

Keep away from flammable materials.<br />

Storage:<br />

Requirements to be met by storagerooms and containers: Do not use containers of zinc.<br />

<strong>Information</strong> on storage in one common storage facility:<br />

Store away from flammable, oxidant or explosiv substances.<br />

Further information about storage conditions: Prevent from drying out.<br />

8 Exposure controls and personal protection<br />

Additional information about design of technical systems:<br />

Pumps must be designed and operated that no dangerous reactions can occur. For transferring<br />

and pumping only pumps without compression glands should be used.<br />

Components with critical values that require monitoring at the workplace:<br />

The product does not contain any relevant quantities of materials with critical values that have to<br />

be monitored at the workplace.<br />

Additional information:<br />

The lists that were valid during the compilation were used as basis.<br />

Additional instruction for repairs:<br />

Take out any residues of the product by thoroughly washing out containers, tubes, pumps and any<br />

other apparatus with water before handling with heat and fire (welding / burning). Authorized<br />

personnel has to clear in writing any handling with heat and fire. An expert has to supervise<br />

permanently the handling (see TRGS 511, 4.4).<br />
