Happy Fall!
I hope everyone had a successful and smooth first quarter! Please see below for the updates for each class:
7 th grade class: We are now meeting weekly for our bullying groups. All 7 th grade students will receive these classroom
guidance lessons. We will continue to meet once a week for five weeks. During that time we will discuss how
bullying has affected the JH climate, what we can do about it, and how to react if you are a victim or by-stander. Starting
November 14 th I will also begin my “G.I.R.L.S” small group (girls in real life situations). The following small
groups will be offered to 7 th and 8 th grade students throughout this year:
Healthy Choices
Anger Management
Time Management
Stress Management
*Group topics were selected based off of a Needs Assessment fill out by all students at the beginning of the year*
8 th grade class: We will be traveling as a class to Pioneer on November 9 th . This is a great time to “test drive” some of
the programs and ask questions to experienced students. We will be leaving at 7:40 and return by 11:15. If you have
any questions, please feel free to contact me at the number below. It is also almost time for our 8 th grade scheduling
meetings. I will send a letter home in December with time and date preferences. This is a mandatory meeting as I will
be going over High School requirements. The meetings will more than likely take place the last week of January.
9 th grade class: I will be meeting with the 9 th grade class once a month for four months as they navigate high school
life. Topics covered will include goal setting, character development, and college and career. We will also meet once to
look at their current GPA, ranking, and teach them how to calculate their GPA.
9 th grade Spanish I students- We are now holding a student led Spanish study group Wednesdays from 2:24-3:00 in the
Media Center. If you would like to join to tutor or be tutored please let me know.

Wynford Elementary Technology Resource Website
Wynford Elementary has a new technology resource website.
Find it at http://wynfordroyals.weebly.com. The site includes resources
for the students such as keyboarding, math fact drills, spelling
practice, clip of the week, research sites, educational games, and
much more. This will be the website with elementary e-day lessons
(if we use them). The site is constantly growing and changing so
check back often.
