2 FEEDINg AMERICA Together with Barilla, we believe that wholesome, nutritious meals are basic human needs. But across the country, many struggle to fill this need every day due to financial difficulties. At Feeding America, we want to do our part to address this worldwide hunger epidemic. Barilla’s support will help us carry out our mission to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger. With a network of 200 member food banks across the country, Feeding America supplies more than 3 billion pounds of food and grocery products annually. Through the assistance of local and national food assistance programs, we are able to provide nutritious, fresh foods to Americans struggling with hunger; safe and nurturing places for children to have a meal; emergency assistance for disaster victims; as well as a chance at self-sufficiency for adults trying to break the cycle of poverty and hunger. At Feeding America, we also work to educate elected officials about the impact of food insecurity in their communities, and identify and advance policy solutions to put struggling families on the road to healthy, hunger-free lives. Together with our partners, supporters, sponsors and more, we are working to ensure that no child is at risk of hunger, that food banks are well-stocked, that families have a solid foundation through access to nutritious food, and that people can get help during hard times.
