OPEIG CEREMOIES
There being a constitutional number of Chapters present, M. . . E. . . Griffith Jones III, Grand
High Priest, officially opened the Two Hundred Twelfth Convocation of the Grand Chapter
of the State of New York in due and ancient ritualistic form with the Officers previously
listed present and in their positions. The meeting was opened with prayer. The flag of the
United States of America was presented and the Pledge of Allegiance given, followed by one
verse of the “Stars Spangled Banner” and one verse of “O Canada”.
The Grand High priest called for any special resolutions that needed to be brought before
the Grand Chapter.
ADMISSIO OF VISITORS
On motion of M. . . E. . . Edward S. Newsham:
Be it resolved that Royal Arch Masons in good standing be admitted to the Grand Chapter
during this Annual Convocation provided that this permission be not subsequently revoked
by the objection of a member of this Grand Chapter, except at the time of the election of
Officers.
HOURS OF MEETIG
On motion of M. . . E. . . John S. Jones
Be it resolved, that the session of this Annual Convocation, after the close of this morning’s
session, shall be opened at eight forty-five o’clock tomorrow morning and at such
time in the afternoon as the Grand High Priest shall prescribe.
ELECTIO OF OFFICERS
On motion of M. . . E. . . Courtland M. Andrew:
Be it resolved that the Election of Officers and Trustees be made the special order of
business at 12 noon today.
TESTIMOIAL
On motion of M. . . E. . . Walter J. Hilsenbeck:
To the Grand King
Resolved, that a Special Committee be appointed to procure and present to the Most
Excellent Grand High Priest, M. . . E. . . Griffith Jones III, our retiring Grand High Priest, a suitable
testimonial in token of the esteem and appreciation of the Companions and of the Grand
Chapter, and that his portrait be published in the Proceedings of this Annual Convocation.
COMMITTEE REPORTS

Be it resolved that all Committee Reports be received, made a part of the Proceedings
of this Annual Convocation and that they be printed in the Proceedings of this year’s
Annual Convocation.
