that choose a private-school setting, <strong>the</strong><br />
Greater Susquehanna Valley <strong>of</strong>fers several<br />

Sunbury Christian Academy is a<br />
private, not-<strong>for</strong>-pr<strong>of</strong>it Christian school<br />
located just north <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Borough <strong>of</strong><br />
Northumberland. The Academy was<br />
established in 1974 as a ministry <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
Sunbury Bible Church and is committed<br />
to training students spiritually, mentally<br />
and physically. SCA currently enrolls<br />
approximately 230 students from<br />
pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.<br />
SCA <strong>of</strong>fers a <strong>for</strong>mal program <strong>of</strong> academic<br />

music, <strong>for</strong>eign language, physical education<br />
and computer. Also available are s<br />

speech. Teaching and administrative staff<br />
have graduated from accredited colleges<br />
and universities and are state-certified<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essionals. SCA facilities include<br />
modern, computer-networked classrooms,<br />
library, fully equipped computer lab,<br />
science lab, gymnasium, athletic fields<br />
and a cafeteria <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> hot lunch program.<br />
Northumberland Christian School<br />
was founded in 1972 to provide a genuine<br />
alternative <strong>for</strong> parents who were concerned<br />
that <strong>the</strong>ir children receive a quality education,<br />
based upon <strong>the</strong> principles <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
