that choose a private-school setting, the
Greater Susquehanna Valley offers several
alternatives with a focus on Christian
values and principles.
Sunbury Christian Academy is a
private, not-for-profit Christian school
located just north of the Borough of
Northumberland. The Academy was
established in 1974 as a ministry of the
Sunbury Bible Church and is committed
to training students spiritually, mentally
and physically. SCA currently enrolls
approximately 230 students from
pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
SCA offers a formal program of academic
courses with additional classes in art,
music, foreign language, physical education
and computer. Also available are s
pecial services for reading, math and
speech. Teaching and administrative staff
have graduated from accredited colleges
and universities and are state-certified
professionals. SCA facilities include
modern, computer-networked classrooms,
library, fully equipped computer lab,
science lab, gymnasium, athletic fields
and a cafeteria for the hot lunch program.
Northumberland Christian School
was founded in 1972 to provide a genuine
alternative for parents who were concerned
that their children receive a quality education,
based upon the principles of the
word of God. The school offers a full
educational program for students from
preschool through high school.

Greenwood Friends School is
located on Route 254 about three miles
east of Millville in Columbia County
