I would like to thank Prof. Dr. A. Kharazipour for common research projects
on wood composite production and for his contributions to the teaching in the
master programme “Wood Biology and Wood Technology”. At the Institute of
Forest Botany, he and his coworkers and students M. Bartholome, C. Bohn,
M. Euring, H. Hosseinkhani, L. Kloeser, Dr. K. Ludwig, Dr. C. Müller,
Dr. C. Schöpper, S. Schütze, and H. Vos are hosted in the section “Molecular
Wood Biotechnology” and present a link to the section “Forest Botany and Tree
Physiology” headed by Prof. Dr. A. Polle. I am very grateful to her and members
of her group for cooperation on research projects, some of these within the frame
of the NHN, and to Prof. Dr. A. Hüttermann for many valuable advices and for
his continuous support in fields of teaching. B. Rüther deserves much thank for
his excellent coordination of the NHN in frame of the EFRE-project, helping to
make it a great success: Thanks are given to all NHN partners for their inputs into
the competence net which enabled the spin-off of the incorporated association
NHN in October 2005. Thanks go also to S. Wagner, D. Melle and S. Thomas,
