A majority of visual monitoring effort was conducted during average observations conditions<br />
with regular periods of high winds (greater than 20 knots) which could last hours or <strong>day</strong>s at a<br />
time. There were brief periods where visibility was obscured or hindered by fog or snow but the<br />
safety radii remained visible. Visibility was clear, 5 kilometers or more, for the majority of the<br />
cruise (Figure 8).<br />
