62. The 'La Partage' Rule
The la partage roulette rule is similar to the en prison rule, only in this case
the player loses half the bet and does not have the option of leaving the bet
en prison for another spin. This refers to the 'outside' even-money bets
Red/Black, High/Low, Odd/Even and applies when the outcome is zero.
Both the La Partage and the En Prison roulette rules essentially cut the
casino edge on the 'even-money bets' in half. So a bet on Red on a single-
zero roulette table with the la partage rule or the en prison rule has a
1.35% house edge and one on a double-zero roulette table has a house
edge of 2.63%.
63. Mathematics and Gambling don't mix. In mathematics you know exactly
what will happen. Gambling is the exact opposite, you never know what will
happen, otherwise it wouldn't be gambling. If you try to calculate the
possibilities of winning mathematically, it is unlikely that you will get
anywhere even if there was no casino advantage - no 0, 00.
64. For an efficient betting strategy aim to win more money in fewer winning
spins. You must choose a betting strategy that gives you more wins in
fewer spin.
65. Always spend some time learning to read and interpret the
READERBOARD. This is the clear and present predictor of what has
happened on the table you are playing. If the table does not have a
Readerboard or if it is malfunctioning , DO NOT Play this table. Starting
from the bottom and read to the top. The recent HIT is at the top.
66. Dissect and analyse the number on the readerboard. First include the
number for the current dealer. Look for a pattern such as “ are the
numbers in the first dozen, 2 nd dozen or 3 rd dozen” , “ are there any
repeats”, “are the number in the 1 st row, 2 nd row, 3 rd row”. Don’t play
against the trend. The trend is your friend.
