"Exposure"
by Tracy M Rogers
And I lie here, broken, day after day,
on this desolate stage of gray marble,
blinded and warmed
by illuminations from above.
Legs apart, thighs elevated—
bare and barren—
I am open to the gaze of passing strangers.
Faintly mocking the spectacle I've become,
they file past, staring
at the tiny patch of pubic hair
offered as art and obscenity—
save a few bloodthirsty souls who,
desiring more still,
stop for a closer glimpse
of the pain-stricken eyes
and the secrets within.
The brazen and the perverse pause
for an ephemeral touch
when the guard has turned away,
fighting the urge
to slide their gluttonous hands
between porcelain thighs
and tangle callused fingers
in silken auburn curls.
