The files expire today.<br />
I cull <strong>the</strong>m from <strong>the</strong> cabinets<br />
and pile <strong>the</strong>m beside<br />
<strong>the</strong> beige paper-shredder.<br />
They stack neatly: slightly<br />
faded invoices, bills, correspondence<br />
(<strong>the</strong> facsimiles <strong>of</strong> irrelevance).<br />
For seven years I've bulged<br />
<strong>the</strong> stiffened binders with clients<br />
who have since declined<br />
to renew or shifted <strong>the</strong>ir business<br />
elsewhere. According to most<br />
arbiters, it is now safe to initiate<br />
my petty revenge; to cut<br />
confetti out <strong>of</strong> unfulfilment.<br />
