Dranes has been a somewhat mythical figure until now,
with a reputation as an uninhibited force of nature in pianodriven,
Pentecostal gospel from the 1920s. Both this book
and CD substantiate her iconic status and support claims of
her supporters of an under-acknowledged musical importance.
