COMMON RULES & INFORMATION<br />
In the event your vessel is determined to be the source of pollution within a <strong>Saudi</strong><br />
<strong>Aramco</strong> port or terminal, and in addition to any requirements imposed by the<br />
<strong>Saudi</strong> Arabian Government, you will be served with a Letter of Protest and will be<br />
required to provide <strong>Saudi</strong> <strong>Aramco</strong> with a Statement of Facts describing the incident.<br />
A guarantee in the form of a Letter of Undertaking, satisfactory to <strong>Saudi</strong> <strong>Aramco</strong>,<br />
in an amount sufficient to cover all cleanup costs incurred by <strong>Saudi</strong> <strong>Aramco</strong>, will<br />
be obtained through the vessel’s agent. Your vessel will not be permitted to sail<br />
until such time as this guarantee letter is received.<br />
Costs reimbursable to <strong>Saudi</strong> <strong>Aramco</strong> for pollution caused by your vessel may<br />
include but shall not be limited to the following:<br />

correct the cause of the pollution.<br />

The costs of providing exceptional marine assistance to unberth and<br />
re-berth vessels.<br />
Cost of berth unavailability due to pollution damage.<br />
Corporate overhead not otherwise included in the applicable rates<br />
charged for other expenses<br />
5.9 AIR POLLUTION<br />
Every tanker shall have a Volatile Organic Compound Certificate, based on a<br />
management plan that addresses all related actions and procedures, to ensure<br />
H2S content in ship’s cargo tanks is always maintained within acceptable limits as<br />
per ISGOTT guidelines (ISGOTT 2.3.6.4).<br />
Tankers arriving at any of <strong>Saudi</strong> <strong>Aramco</strong> terminals, having previously carried a high<br />
H2S content cargo, are required to purge their cargo tanks prior to arrival. All<br />
Tankers shall confirm, via “Standard Message Arrival Telex,” that the H2S content<br />
