Dear Friends,
Our incredible patients inspire us with their stories every
day. Kate has beaten cervical cancer not once, not twice,
but three times. A young, thirty-year-old mom without
insurance and with a pre-existing condition, she knew
one place she could always count on for the care she
needed was Planned Parenthood. And we were there
for her, providing a diagnosis that saved her life, and
offering compassionate, non-judgmental health care.
As you well know, women’s access to health care was
again under attack in 2011 at the federal, state, and
local levels. Yet through it all, our highly trained doctors,
nurses, and other health care professionals proudly came
to work every day so that people like Kate would have
access to the care they need. Our doors remain open to
everyone, no matter what.
The support that we’ve felt has been magnificent.
Throughout it all, you have made it possible for us to
be there for Kate, and tens of thousands like her. It is
because of your support that we are the leading provider
of reproductive and sexual health care in our region.
Letter from the President & CEO and Board Chair
One in five women has turned to us at some point in their
lives. Tens of thousands of women and men in our region
rely on us as their medical home, and we are honored to
serve them.
As we look into the future, we pledge to do even more,
opening our doors to additional people—just like Kate.
We want to optimize new technologies to empower
women, men, and teens. We want to expand our scope
of practice and offer accessible health care to a broader
range of people.
Without a doubt, our life-changing work would not be
