With your help, our Club can be even more successful! Our private party and banquet facilities are
available for your family and business use. We can handle a small dinner party for 12 in our Wine Room
or a 400 person cocktail party, and everything in between. The new Federal Hill Room with its view
of the Harbor is a marvelous way to entertain up to 32 friends or business associates.
Our prices are more competitive than the major hotels and country clubs (generally 20% to 30%
less because the Club is not saddled with a big staff) and parking is free in the building after 5:00 p.m.
Therefore, if you are planning on having 30 people for a rehearsal dinner, 80 people for a 50th anniversary
party, 220 for a wedding/dinner dance, a mammoth size cocktail party, Sweet 16, Bar or Bat Mitzvah,
class reunion, or a civic/charitable event, the Club can provide the best facilities, service and food in town.
As a member, you are permitted to host a private function for a non-member friend, relative or your business.
We pass on to them the same wonderful prices and service as we give you. It is a win/win for all of us if we
use our facilities rather than letting them sit dark.
Think of us especially for charitable/civic events, business meetings and retreats. A lot of these events are
held mid week, and again we can save you or your organization up to 30% on a splendid affair. You will be

NAvIGATE CHARM CITy
Offering complimentary parking after 5 p.m. is certainly one way,
but for those downtown during the day, driving through the city can
get a little hectic. We recently hopped on the new Orange Route of
the Charm City Circulator one block from The Center Club to see just
how easy it is to get around town while avoiding traffic congestion
and parking costs.
From the Inner Harbor stop (#220), it took just 7 minutes to get to
Harbor East. Getting from Harbor East along Lombard Street to the
Hanover Stop (#204) located just ½ a block from The Center Club
took 12 minutes. For those at the University of Maryland and the
BioPark, the roundtrip was just under 15 minutes. What makes the
CHANGES AT 100 LIGHT STREET
100 Light Street is under renovation of both the lobby and outdoor
plaza. The changes to the lobby include incorporation of social seating
areas with new furniture, security desks and elevator design. The lobby
glass will be replaced with a high-energy performance glazing and
entry canopy. The former glass will be reused as illuminated frosted
signage in the plaza along Light Street.

WHAT’S NEW
Circulator effective is a dependable ride every 10 minutes. You can
even go online to www.charmcitycirculator.com and see when the
next bus will arrive via a GPS-based system. Many of the stops also
have screens updating arrival times and soon you’ll have the ability
to sign up for text alerts. And with a dedicated transit lane, you’ll
beat the regular traffic.
According to the Downtown Partnership, the Circulator is
accommodating a higher than anticipated number of riders. In
addition, the Purple Route (Penn Station through Federal Hill) and
the Green Route (City Hall, Fells Point, through Johns Hopkins) are
on schedule to be rolled out by summer.
The former stone plaza will be converted to a lush green space by
incorporating planters, trees, lawn, trellises, dining and seating areas,
and bike racks. Additionally, the “benches” that were removed from
the exterior façade will be reused in the new design as planter walls.
The Grand Opening for the Light Street lobby and plaza is scheduled
for June 10. At that point, construction on the Charles Street lobby
and plaza will begin.

MUSINGS ON LOvE…THE DEBUT OF THE ART OF LIvING
The Art of Living IntraClub hosted its first official event at the end
of February in honor of Valentine’s Day. “Musings on Love” attracted
a sell-out crowd of 45 to a program of music and brief readings on
the topic of love in all its varieties – from love of country and love
of oneself, to love of a new-born son and, of course, romantic love.
The pianist was the Club’s own Virginia Hogan-Morrow, a Steinway
artist, playing on a brand-new Steinway piano graciously loaned by
the company for our event.
AROUND THE CLUB
After the program, the group moved to the dining room and enjoyed a
wonderful four course dinner while being serenaded by Club Member
Gary Rubin and accompanied by Brent Hardesty in songs from the
Frank Sinatra songbook.

South Carolina yacht Club
If you are travelling south, think about visiting the South
Carolina Yacht Club, a private yachting, social and tennis

Reservations – Members are encouraged to make a
reservation prior to arriving at the Club. By providing
the Club with advance notice, we can confirm
your reservation and better serve you. Please call
our Club Receptionist at (410) 727-7788 or visit
www.centerclub.org to make a reservation.
Guest Cards – Unescorted guests may use the Club’s
Main Dining Room or Grill Room three (3) times per
calendar year when sponsored by a Member. Please
call our Club Receptionist to make your reservation
at least 48 hours prior to the requested day.
Electronic Devices and Paper Policy – To maintain
the elegant atmosphere of the Club, please refrain
from using cell phones, IPODS, PDAs, etc. in
the Main Dining Room. However, the discreet
passing of papers is allowed at your dining table.
Cancellation Policy – Cancellations for Club events
must be received no less than 48 hours prior to
the event, or unless otherwise noted, to avoid any
charges. Members who cancel after this period are
subject to 50% of fees.
Parking – The Club has a limited number of spaces
between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and is only
available on a first-come, first-served basis.
We apologize that we cannot reserve parking spaces
for any Member and request that you allow a few
extra moments in your schedule should you have to
utilize another parking facility.
