General Info
Auckland Museum is open daily from 10AM – 5PM. Children under 15
are free. A $10 donation is appreciated from adults. With proof of address
or MyMuseum card no donation is asked of Aucklanders. Charges may
apply for special exhibitions
GETTING HERE
Located on Domain Drive in the
Auckland Domain, the Museum
is a 30-minute walk from town
and a 10-minute drive. The LINK
Bus stops on nearby Parnell Road
every 10 minutes on weekdays and
every 15 minutes on weekends.
The Explorer Bus stops outside
the Museum every hour. For
train passengers, the Museum is
a 10-minute walk from Grafton
Station (western line) and 15
minutes from Newmarket Station
(western/southern lines).
PARKING
Free parking is available in the
Domain. Secure paid undercover
parking is also available, first
hour free.
COLUMBUS CAFÉ
Columbus Café offers fresh fare,
coffee, tea and has a licence to
serve wine & beer.
LIBRARY
The Museum Library is open 10AM
– 5PM Monday – Saturday. Home to
rare and valuable reference material
which is available for the public to
view, the Library was formed in
1867 and has some outstanding
collections relating in particular to
Auckland, New Zealand and the
South Pacific.
