WHEREAS <strong>the</strong> Constitution <strong>of</strong> Kiribati enshr<strong>in</strong>es <strong>the</strong> fundamental pr<strong>in</strong>ciples <strong>of</strong><br />
freedom, democracy and justice;<br />
AND WHEREAS an <strong>in</strong>dependent, strong, respected and respectable Judiciary is<br />
<strong>in</strong>dispensable for <strong>the</strong> impartial adm<strong>in</strong>istration <strong>of</strong> justice <strong>in</strong> a democratic state.<br />
AND WHEREAS at <strong>the</strong> annual conference <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> said members/justices <strong>the</strong> draft<br />
Code was discussed, approved and unanimously adopted <strong>the</strong> draft Code.<br />
WE THE MEMBERS OF THE JUDICIARY OF KIRIBATI hereby freely and<br />
voluntarily accept to be guided and bound by this Code <strong>of</strong> ethics.<br />
