MY
PLAN B
Independent Consultant, National Vice President
Jennifer Jerry Nation; Oklahoma City, OK
Brace yourself ... the gift you are about to receive, or already have, is going to blow
you away. By opening your mind and heart, you will allow this amazing company
to change the way you think, treat others and the way you live. This journey has
given me the excitement of a girl with a Tiffany ® box in her hand. What do you
desire, love, dream about? Start thinking now because you can capture all that you
have ever wanted with this amazing opportunity, courtesy of Arbonne.
Two years ago, I found myself signing up with Arbonne just to help out with my
elementary school teaching salary. I did not have any ”real” intentions of building
a business with a skin care company. I planned a few classes here and there, but I
did not take the business seriously. I loved the people, the products and the idea of
earning a white Mercedes-Benz. The excitement was definitely there, and then in
April I felt the “need for speed.” I was notified that along with 600 other teachers,
I would be laid off due to budget cuts. So there I was, only 24 years old feeling a
little gloomy that my teaching career, that just began, might already be over. But I
had a burning feeling that Arbonne should be my plan B!
By implementing the six for success system, sharing the business, and setting my
goal to get my car by my 25th birthday, I was in business. In 11 months I became
an RVP, two weeks before my birthday. I liked the plan so much that I just duplicated
it. I put the sponsoring, classes and sharing back in motion and set the next
goal for NVP by my 26th birthday ... and I succeeded exactly like the plan before.
My experience has been awesome!
Now I did not always see myself as a National Vice President. I remember sitting
on a porch swing with ENVP Alicia Dewey talking about goals and where we wanted
to take this business. I asked her if she had ever thought of going Nation or if
we should think that big, and she replied, “Absolutely!” From then on I gave myself
“permission” to think and dream bigger. Now I see having a bigger and better
vision is a huge part of one’s success. I have also learned that I must act, talk and
conduct myself like the person I want to become. There has been a lot of personal
and spiritual growth that I have encountered over the past two years, and I love the
person I am for it, and love passing it on. It is funny to think that in the beginning,
I did not think that I needed any of it. I just thought growth was for people who
always found themselves in the self-help section at Barnes and Noble ® . I love
being able to help others become the person that they want to be, and in addition
to sharing our dreams and adventures with each other.
Since I have played sports my whole life, I have really been inspired by
athletes who have the endurance and strength to go the full distance and
win championships. It takes a team to win, just like it does in Arbonne. We
all have different strengths and talents and when you bring it to the table
and share it among each other, everyone achieves more. I am so proud of
my team, they put on their Nike ® shoes and “just did it.” There are many
excuses that we could all use not to be successful in this business, but excuses
are like belly buttons — we all have them. Identify what is holding you
back and turn those same excuses into reasons. Reasons are what drive you.
Something we like to call our Why. If you say you do not have time to do
Arbonne, then that is Why you need to do this business — to create more
time. If you have children and never get to see them, then your children
become your Why. Perhaps money is an issue, then “bingo.” This business
has the potential to provide that too. It is the all-inclusive package deal. You
too can live the life you have always wanted, but it is up to you to decide.
If you are riding the fence and have not put both feet in, please do not wait
for perfect conditions, because they simply do not exist. Life is always pushing
its way onto your calendar. Work your business into the nooks and crannies,
have fun, love your team and yourself, and know that every day is a
new one. Believe that your entire business can change with one new person,
one awesome class or one positive experience. It is up to you to
allow those changes to occur, but without getting into action to create the
cause you will have no effect.
I want to thank those who made this mission possible. You all are my MVPs
(Most Valuable Players). Thank you for making a difference in my life.
ENVP Alicia Dewey: Thank you for your time, your leadership and your
charm. I love being around you and laughing until our stomachs hurt.
Relaxing at an Area Managers Retreat with AM Tasha Wampler and ERVP Heather Slankard.
To my dear sweet friend and sponsor, ENVP Tonna Krogstad: You amaze me
all the time. You have so much love in your heart and I have learned so much
from you. Thank you for bringing Arbonne into my life, for investing in me
and for allowing me to be a part of your family’s life. I love you more than
you will ever know.
To my first Ace, ERVP Heather Slankard and her team: From day one we
latched on to each other, and worked this business together even when we
did not know what we were doing. Our visions were so strong that it does not
matter that we do not have all the answers. Thank you for trusting and believing
in me. Your team is dedicated and works so hard. You all are true champions.
I cannot wait till your wedding day and the day you become an NVP.
To RVP Stacee Fix and your team: Your fire and desire to take this business
to the top is what I love. Your compassion for your team and the spirit you
create is outstanding. Your team is so coachable and loving. Thank you for
all that you and your team do.
To RVP-in-qualification, Natasha Topinka and her team: To be able to work
Arbonne, have a full-time job, and make it look so simple is beyond words.
You never let anything get in your way and your positive attitude is so contagious.
Thank you for giving me a chance to show you what this company can
really do. Your team is unstoppable.
would not be where I am today.
ERVP Erin Krogstad: You are the best crossline anyone could ever have.
Thank you for all your love and support.
To Petter, Stian and Candee: Thank you for all that you do. Rita: I would stay
Many thanks to my entire family for cheering me on all the way to the top.
Mom, thank you for starting this business. I know you can do this too. Dad,
thanks for sharing and bragging about me to the other farmers. Nana, you
are my number one fan. Thanks for all the phone calls. I love you all very much.
Marcus — my sweet, hard-working, husband: To be able to paint my picture
alongside yours has been incredible. I love it that we can wake up in the
morning and not rush out the door to beat the traffic. But instead go about our
day calling one another, welcoming each other’s successes throughout the
day. I love spending time with you and I look forward to building our dream
a good Arbonne wife. I love you and I cannot wait to have some fun in Hawaii.
To the many whom I have built my business upon your teachings: You have
each brought something into my business that I have taken, and implemented
into what I want my team to follow and reflect. My main way of learning was
through listening to CDs while getting ready every day, and while driving in the
Mercedes-Benz. Thank you ENVP Cecilia Stoll (persistence and strength), ENVP
Deanna Herrin (professionalism and leadership), ENVP Alicia Dewey (confidence
and determination), ENVP Tonna Krogstad (servanthood and love),
ENVP Rachel Sinclair (personal and spiritual growth), ENVP Cathi Almquist
(learning to laugh often and celebrate) and ENVP Stacy Thorn (continuous
action and respect). I am your student and hope that one day, I can pass this
all down and inspire others like you have for all of us.
My advice to you reading this story: Whether you are a friend, wholesale buyer
or business builder, I encourage you to live each day to the fullest, and create
the life you have always wanted. Do this for your family, yourself and to help
others. Don’t be the person who says “what if.” Be the person who says, “I am
so glad I did.” From the outside Arbonne may look like just another skin care
company, but “man oh man,” if you only knew what I know. Everyone deserves
the best and Arbonne is the finest gift you will ever receive. Thank you Arbonne
for putting more life in my day.
