Final SEA Report on the Aragvi River Basin, 30 March 2010, Page 228 ANNEX VIII – STAKEHOLDER MEETING IN BARISAKHO A Stakeholder meeting on the Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Aragvi River Basin Project was held with the local population in the village of Barisakho in Pshavi. The meeting was held at the Barisakho School (the only public building in the village at the moment), Barisakho is located in the Pshavi Aragvi Valley, a mountainous region at 1,200 meters above sea level and settled by 50 households. Pshavi is one of the smallest historian-ethnographical provinces of Georgia. It belongs to the Dusheti administrative district. There were 48 villages in Pshavi at the end of the XIX century with a total population of more than 5,000. Nowadays some 20 villages with a total population of about 1,000 are left.
