<strong>the</strong> impact efficiency between two balls.<br />
collision-induced english: same as “cut-induced spin.”<br />
collision-induced spin: same as “cut-induced spin.”<br />
collision-induced throw: same as “cut-induced throw.”<br />
combination shot: a shot where <strong>the</strong> cue ball hits an object ball into ano<strong>the</strong>r to pocket <strong>the</strong><br />
second ball.<br />
combo: same as a “combination shot.”<br />
come into <strong>the</strong> line <strong>of</strong> a shot: have <strong>the</strong> CB approach <strong>the</strong> OB along <strong>the</strong> aiming line, <strong>of</strong>fering <strong>the</strong><br />
largest margin for error with position.<br />
connect <strong>the</strong> dots: a “roadmap” layout; or <strong>the</strong> run-out <strong>of</strong> a “roadmap” pattern.<br />
contact point: <strong>the</strong> point <strong>of</strong> contact between <strong>the</strong> cue ball <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> object ball at impact.<br />
COF: coefficient <strong>of</strong> friction.<br />
COP: center <strong>of</strong> percussion.<br />
COR: coefficient <strong>of</strong> restitution.<br />
Coriolis: famous French ma<strong>the</strong>matician <strong>and</strong> physicist who wrote a <strong>book</strong> on billiards physics.<br />
Corner-5 System: a formula-based diamond system for aiming three-rail kick shots.<br />
corner hooked: when <strong>the</strong> cue ball is left in <strong>the</strong> jaws <strong>of</strong> a pocket with <strong>the</strong> path to an object ball<br />
blocked by one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> pocket points.<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> shot.<br />
cross side: a bank shot <strong>of</strong>f a long rail into a side pocket, where <strong>the</strong> cue ball crosses <strong>the</strong> line <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> shot.<br />

CTE: center-to-edge, referring to <strong>the</strong> line <strong>of</strong> aim going through <strong>the</strong> center <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> cue ball <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
edge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> object ball, which creates a ½-ball hit. This line <strong>of</strong> aim is used as a reference or<br />
point-<strong>of</strong>-departure in some aiming <strong>and</strong> alignment systems.<br />
cue: <strong>the</strong> tapered wooden implement used to strike <strong>the</strong> cue ball.
