O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus
Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the
Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are
you now being made perfect by the flesh? (Gal 3:1-3 NKJV)
Also to the Colossians:
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him. (Col 2:6 NKJV)
Just as we have received Him (by faith in Christ alone), so we should continue to walk in Him: relating to God
through faith in Christ alone and not through our own efforts of self righteousness. Have you actually seen
how the Bible describes our efforts to try and be righteous before God through our own works?
But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags. (Isa 64:6a NKJV)
It is only through the obedience of the one man, Jesus Christ and His righteousness given to us a free gift,
that we can stand perfect before God.
Why This Book?
My purpose with writing this book is for it to be an account of topics and doctrines that I have personally
struggled with, but which God has revealed to me through the ministry of the Holy Spirit and the obedience of
men such as Rob Rufus, Joseph Prince, Steve McVey, Bill Johnson, Andrew Wommack, Andrew Farley,
Cornel Marais, Paul Ellis, Bertie Brits, Tony Ide and Curry Blake, to name but a few.
I count myself as privileged to be able to stand on the shoulders of these giants and learn from them, and
dedicate this book to all the people who have inspired me through their selfless devotion to spreading the
fragrance of the grace of God through the nations.
My prayer is for this book to destroy the religious arguments and doctrines of demons forever, to irrefutably
prove from scripture that the Old Covenant Law of Moses was nailed to the cross with Jesus over 2000 years
ago and that we, as New Covenant believers, have been given “unfair” advantages in life over the people
living in subjection to the beggarly elements of this world (Galatians 4).
Grace has empowered me to live free from condemnation and the fear of punishment, giving me the boldness
to enter into the holy of holies and with an unveiled face behold the glory of my Father, who loves me with a
love beyond what I’m able to put into words.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who
fears has not been made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18 NKJV)
Grace also empowers us to do greater exploits for God than we were ever able to do under law. In December
2008 my wife and I relocated to Perth, Australia and joined a sister church of our Hong Kong Church,
Freedom Life 2 , led by loving shepherds Tony and Robyn Ide, whom we’ve grown to love very much. Over this
period I made a commitment to write a weekly devotional message that I would send out to whoever wanted
to read it. People were weekly subscribing by the dozens and this has led to the creation of the ministry called
New Covenant Grace 3 that has touched the lives of many people across the world.
In March 2010 we moved back to our home country, South Africa, where we currently reside. The fragrance of
grace is spreading like a wildfire among our friends and family and we are excited about what lies ahead!
How to Grow in Grace
If you ever wish to renew your mind at an accelerated rate and learn to have discipline to go and search the
scriptures for truth to refute the arguments of the modern day Pharisees, I would encourage you to start
writing a blog or begin your own website or a discussion group on a social networking site like Facebook,
sharing truth with people as God reveals it to you. Throw yourself into the thick of things and watch God work
through you! Sometimes we only realize why we take a stand for certain things when we have to defend it.
The quickest way to learn is on the job and not by sitting on the sidelines. Every time the legalists have come
with their piercing questions, it has forced me to go and look for the answers and to question why I hold on so
dearly to my beliefs. In the end it has only served to strengthen my resolve. But probably the most notable
