Edward L. Potter was named executive director of the<br />
International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation/<br />
Regional Association for The Americas (ICMIF/Americas) in<br />
February, 2004. Founded in 1922, ICMIF serves as the global<br />
voice for cooperative and mutual insurance industry, today<br />
representing 221 member-owned insurance companies in 70<br />
countries around the world.<br />
As ICMIF’s regional association for The Americas,<br />
ICMIF/Americas serves 63 member cooperative and mutual<br />
insurers in 20 countries throughout North, Central and South<br />
America and the Caribbean. Collectively members in The<br />
Americas region represent over 1 400 insurers with over US<br />
$111 billion in assets and US$41.5 billion in premium income.<br />
A certified association executive (CAE), Potter has more than 24<br />
years of experience in international trade, professional and<br />
philanthropic associations and international development. He has<br />
also worked for several international non-profit organizations<br />
including the <strong>American</strong> Society of Association Executives,<br />
Partners of the Americas, the International Exchange Association,<br />
and the International Youth Foundation.<br />
Potter holds a degree in International Studies from the<br />
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is fluent in Spanish<br />
and Portuguese, and conversant in French.<br />

Joseph J. Annotti joined the <strong>American</strong><br />
<strong>Fraternal</strong> <strong>Alliance</strong> as President and CEO on March 31 , 2008. As<br />
CEO of the <strong>Fraternal</strong> <strong>Alliance</strong>, Joe is responsible for managing<br />
the day-to-day operations of the organization. He also serves as<br />
the voice of the fraternal industry to all internal and external<br />
audiences, and the leading advocate for the system before state<br />
and federal public policymakers. In conjunction with the Board<br />
of Directors, he provides strategic guidance to the organization<br />
in order to build and affirm the <strong>Fraternal</strong> <strong>Alliance</strong>’s mission,<br />
values and policy positions.<br />
