International Cooperative and Mutual
Insurance Federation/Americas > > > > >
Edward L. Potter was named executive director of the
International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation/
Regional Association for The Americas (ICMIF/Americas) in
February, 2004. Founded in 1922, ICMIF serves as the global
voice for cooperative and mutual insurance industry, today
representing 221 member-owned insurance companies in 70
countries around the world.
As ICMIF’s regional association for The Americas,
ICMIF/Americas serves 63 member cooperative and mutual
insurers in 20 countries throughout North, Central and South
America and the Caribbean. Collectively members in The
Americas region represent over 1 400 insurers with over US
$111 billion in assets and US$41.5 billion in premium income.
A certified association executive (CAE), Potter has more than 24
years of experience in international trade, professional and
philanthropic associations and international development. He has
also worked for several international non-profit organizations
including the American Society of Association Executives,
Partners of the Americas, the International Exchange Association,
and the International Youth Foundation.
Potter holds a degree in International Studies from the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is fluent in Spanish
and Portuguese, and conversant in French.

Joseph J. Annotti joined the American
Fraternal Alliance as President and CEO on March 31 , 2008. As
CEO of the Fraternal Alliance, Joe is responsible for managing
the day-to-day operations of the organization. He also serves as
the voice of the fraternal industry to all internal and external
audiences, and the leading advocate for the system before state
and federal public policymakers. In conjunction with the Board
of Directors, he provides strategic guidance to the organization
in order to build and affirm the Fraternal Alliance’s mission,
values and policy positions.
