557.22. "V" Definitions.<br />
(a) Valid. Means a license or Certificate <strong>of</strong> Registration which has not<br />
been suspended, denied, or revoked and for which all appropriate fees have<br />
been tendered for <strong>the</strong> period involved.<br />
(b) Vaporizing liquid. A class <strong>of</strong> extinguishing agents possessing <strong>to</strong>xic<br />
properties which are prohibited for use in California. (Section 13162(c), Health<br />
and Safety Code). These agents are Carbon Tetrachloride (CCl4), Methyl<br />
Bromide (CH3BR), Chlorobromomethane (CH2ClBr), and Dibromo<br />
Tetrafluoroethane (C2Br2F4).<br />
(c) Vehicle. For <strong>the</strong> purposes <strong>of</strong> this Chapter, as defined in Vehicle<br />
Code Section 670 and includes vessels as defined in Harbors and Navigation<br />
Code Section 651, and aircraft as defined in Public Utilities Code Section 21012.<br />

557.23. "W" Definitions.<br />
(a) Water-Type Fire Extinguisher. A water-type <strong>fire</strong> <strong>extinguisher</strong> contains<br />
water-based agents, such as water, AFFF, FFFP, antifreeze, and loaded<br />
stream.<br />
(b) Wet Chemical. Wet chemicals include, but are not limited <strong>to</strong>, aqueous<br />
solutions <strong>of</strong> potassium acetate, potassium carbonate, potassium citrate, or<br />
combinations <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se materials.<br />
(c) Wheeled Fire Extinguisher. For <strong>the</strong> purposes <strong>of</strong> this Chapter,<br />
wheeled <strong>fire</strong> <strong>extinguisher</strong>s are considered <strong>portable</strong> <strong>fire</strong> <strong>extinguisher</strong>s as defined<br />
in Section 557.16(c).<br />

560. General Provisions and Fee Schedule<br />
(a) No person shall engage in <strong>the</strong> servicing and maintenance <strong>of</strong> <strong>portable</strong><br />
<strong>fire</strong> <strong>extinguisher</strong>s under <strong>the</strong> scope <strong>of</strong> this chapter (Section 550.3) without having<br />
first submitted an application and all documents, necessary <strong>to</strong> demonstrate<br />
compliance with and having obtained a license from, <strong>the</strong> State Fire Marshal in<br />
accordance with <strong>the</strong> provisions <strong>of</strong> this chapter. Licenses shall be processed in<br />
accordance with Title 19, California Code <strong>of</strong> Regulations, Section 3.33.<br />
